Website information

Terms

These terms apply to your use of this website and to requesting our services. They are standard terms for a small UK service business and should be reviewed by the business or its legal adviser before being relied upon.

1. Using this website

The content of this website is for general information only. It is not legal, financial or professional advice. While we aim to keep the information accurate, we do not guarantee that it is complete, up to date or free from errors.

2. Enquiries and assessments

Submitting an enquiry or requesting an assessment does not create a contract. Assessments are provided so that we can understand the property and its contents and propose how the work may be carried out. Any proposal is subject to confirmation after the assessment.

3. Our service

We provide discreet, considered house clearance services across Devon. We identify items that may benefit from further attention, prioritise reuse and recycling where practical, and dispose of remaining items responsibly. We are not specialist valuers or auctioneers, and any indication of potential value is not a formal valuation or guarantee.

4. Your responsibilities

You confirm that you have the right to instruct us to clear the property and its contents, and that any items requiring special handling have been disclosed. You are responsible for removing items you wish to keep before the clearance begins, unless otherwise agreed.

5. Pricing and payment

Where a charge applies, we will provide a clear written proposal before work begins. Payment terms will be set out in that proposal or in a separate written agreement.

6. Cancellations and changes

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. We will treat cancellations reasonably and will explain any charges that may apply.

7. Limitation of liability

We carry appropriate insurance and take care in our work. However, our liability is limited to the reasonable cost of the services in question and does not cover indirect, consequential or unforeseeable losses.

8. Intellectual property

The text, images and design of this website belong to Devon House Clearances or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
